Sydnie Barrett, Managing Editor of Visual Elements
In their fourth year as a Chatterbox staff member, Sydnie Barrett is overwhelmingly excited to work as the Managing Editor of Visual Elements. After a year of virtual learning, Barrett can’t wait to get back to creating print issues of The Chatterbox, while helping the other staff members with all photography and design needs.
Barrett started in the WHHS journalism program as a writer and photographer, but quickly found a passion for video. They learned a lot in their time as the Broadcast Section Editor during remote learning, and they plan to use that experience to help promote creating video and digital content for the publication.
Outside of journalism, Barrett is not very good at sticking to hobbies. From sewing, to painting, to learning American Sign Language, knitting, baking, candle making, and just about any other craft you can think of, Barrett is quick to learn and even quicker to move on.
Barrett plans to study journalism in college, but has no idea where they want to go and has adopted a “go with the flow” mentality on the subject. Barrett does not know what they want to do after college either. They may put their journalism degree to good use; they may open a coffee shop. That subject is also a “go with the flow” situation.
