Emma Kim, Section Editor of News and Features

In her second year as a Chatterbox staff member, Emma Kim is enthusiastic to work as the Section Editor of News and Features. She hopes to improve her interviewing skills and develop her journalistic writing style.

She was a club member during the 2022-2023 school year as a Feature Writer 

Kim also swims for WHHS and is currently on the Cincinnati Aquatic Club team. 

Kim hopes to attend college and major in pre-med.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano and spending time with friends.

With the temperature outside decreasing, faculty and students must find ways to work around varying temperatures on the inside. After her classes were relocated to a different room due to the cold temperatures in her classroom, Laurie Cotton used blankets and binder clips to try and insulate her windows from the cold.

Issue 22:
Ohio passed Issue 22 which approved the sale of Cincinnati’s 337-mile Cincinnati Southern Railroad to Norfolk Southern for $1.6 billion. The profit from the sale will be put into a trust fund for the city’s future infrastructure needs. The investment is estimated to make double the amount of the previous lease payment, which was about $26 million.

Throughout the construction process, Executive Director of the Alumni Foundation, Debbie Heldman has attempted to keep the architectural components that define WHHS the same. The architectural details are really important as 100 years from now we have to remember 100 years, Heldman said. The new head football coach, G. Benjamin Myles hopes to create a team that WHHS can be proud of. To achieve this, Myles is stepping up to create an environment filled with support and determination. “He pays attention to each group. He is really microscopic about everything, and he makes sure everyone is doing their job right, rather than leaving it to other coaches,” SENIOR Eric Terell, a player on the football team, said. “He’s also energetic everyday. The WHHS Alumni Foundation bought a composting tumbler for the courtyard back when it was built, and Green Club was founded to maintain it. “I wanted to start composting, but [the tumbler] hadnt been used in years, so I found the part that was needed to fix it [and] fixed it,” Angelina DiPaola, ‘24, said.
