Marwa Khzir

Marwa Khzir, Editor in Chief

In her fourth year as a Chatterbox staff member, Marwa Khzir is excited to work as the Editor-in-Chief for the Chatterbox. Khzir hopes to further improve her writing skills while simultaneously producing and publishing work she is proud of.

Khzir’s previous journalism experience includes News Writing 1, News Writing 2 and B/W Photography.

Khzir is also involved in a variety of extracurricular activities including being a student leader for Student Ambassador, a member of StuCO 2025, and the president for Youth Philanthropy Council. 

Khzir hopes to attend law school and eventually work as a defense attorney.

Khzir enjoys playing soccer with her family and a favorite pastime for her is baking goods with her mom.

Last year, members of the Poetry Slam Team competed at the [insert comp name here].“Kevin and Rahifa, the current SENIOR and junior poet laureates, are both part of the Poetry Slam Team,” Jake Riordan said. “So they're not only writing poetry and sharing it in a written format, but they're reciting it, memorizing it and dramatically performing in front of a live audience all throughout the city.”

The Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing a concert conducted by Daniel Wiley in which they will perform “Scheherazade” and “Childhood Memories” at Music Hall on Dec. 3 and the Concert Orchestra will be performing a selection of pieces including “Star Wars” and “The Planets” at the Corbett Auditorium at CCM (University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music) on Dec. 10.

“If you're taking a fine arts class, or it's like your first fine arts class, just have fun, relax, and do what you like to do. Maybe try to experiment with new materials and new ways of doing things. Looking at other people's work can really help inspire your own work,” said Pentecost. “If you're trying to go into the AP classes, I would say, make sure to keep up with your materials because that's when it starts to get a little bit more actual assignment driven focus, but either way, it's really fun to take our classes.”
