In her 3rd year as a Chatterbox staff member, Ally Garth is enthusiastic to work as the Managing Editor of Operations for Journalism.  She hopes to make sure that the paper is paid for completely and that it is making its way off the newstands and into the hands of the students.

Garth worked previously as a writer, photographer and Assistant Business Manager on the Chatterbox.  She also is a member of the Quill and Scroll International Honor Society and helps her elementary school, Mercy Montessori, with their newspaper and yearbook programs.

Along with being an active member of student journalism, Garth spends the majority of her time playing on the varsity soccer team and being an active member of her school’s theater department.

Garth isn’t quite sure what she wants to do with her life yet— and that’s okay!  She plans on applying to Indiana University, Miami University, University of Cincinnati and a few others.  Hopefully it won’t take too long for her to figure it out.

Garth enjoys writing, painting, drawing and playing her beloved ukulele in her free time.

She thoroughly enjoys the Chatterbox, and hopes you do too!

In March of 2018, WHHS students sit in the Ohio Statehouse, where the Ohio legislature meets, lobbying the state government to take action on gun control. Like these students, Nadya Ellerhorst, '20, has been working for change, but on a different issue; in the past year, she has written to and petitioned for the Ohio Senate to reform their "tampon tax."

SENIOR Allyson Garth creates representational art. This piece showcases some of Garth’s internal struggles, such as feeling caught in her own mind. It reads: “My life is a puzzle, why can’t I solve it!” and “Let me out.”
