Airport travel during the holidays this year was stunted by bad weather that led to flight cancellations and delays. Southwest Airlines canceled nearly 71% of flights in one day, whereas American, United and Delta canceled 14% of their flights. Many were forced to spend the night in airports or miss family gatherings due to long delays and canceled flights.

"Last year we fed 1100 plus [students] almost every day, and we were short employees,” Norris said. “I did the cooking and I also worked on the main serving line too… I think most of the schools are short, at least one or two employees.”

Even though speed cushions have been added to some roads, pedestrians are still getting hit by speeding cars, such as the two UC students who were hit by them in September. Even if cars aren’t speeding, pedestrians can still get hit, as evidenced by the eight-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car, which the police don’t believe was speeding, in Bond Hill.

WHHS was one of the bright spots for CPS on the report card that came from the Ohio Department of Education. CPS scored two stars, out of five, in four of five categories, while the last category, which was based on graduation rates, scored one star. WHHS scored five stars in three of the four categories it was graded on, and four stars on the last category.
