Bengals Spirit Day
For the first time since 1988, our city’s very own Cincinnati Bengals have made it to the Super Bowl and WHHS students are ecstatic. WHHS student body and faculty flooded Blair Circle in a sea of black and orange to show their support, and cheer on our own winter sports teams.
Led by Marching Blue and Gold Captain SENIOR Mohammad Kassem, drum major Katie Berich, ‘24 and the WHHS drumline, the athletes walked through a tunnel of crazed Bengals fans.
Students and staff around campus have been showing their support for the Bengals the past week, including a “Who Dey Day” in which Bengals spiritwear was worn across the school. It’s been 34 years since the Bengals’ last Super Bowl appearance, and fans believe this will have a long lasting impact on Cincinnati.
“It’ll bring us closer together like it has already done so far. That’s the biggest thing right now. Cincinnati has come together tremendously,” WHHS security guard Nadia Alexander-Smith said.
