Hannah Lilienthal, Broadcast Team Member

In her second year as a Chatterbox staff member, Hannah Lilienthal, ‘24, is ready to explore her role as a broadcast section asset.  

As a fourth year student athlete and football manager at Walnut, she hopes to use her platform in sports to shed light on our aspiring youth.

Lilienthal plans to attend college and explore career options in the journalism field. 

Lilienthal enjoys exercising and journaling.

Walnut’s girls basketball traditions

The girls’ basketball team traditionally hits the WHHS banner on the way out the locker room, every time they exit.

In addition to using the weight room, the girls’ basketball team uses Walnut’s track and field outdoor facility at Marx stadium to condition in the off-season.

During pre-season training, the girls use the training room in the 1400 hallway regularly for strength conditioning.

The Senior high gym here at Walnut serves as a safe, familiar space for the women’s basketball team. To many of the girls, it’s more than just a gym, it’s a home.

In the Athletic Training room, girls go to rehab before and after practice in order to maintain a healthy physique.

The women’s basketball team plays in the senior high gym in front of spectators every week from November to February.

The hallway between the Senior High gym and swimming pool is where the girls’ basketball team recites the Lord’s prayer before every game.

In addition to being present in the Athletic Training room, professionals Nathalie Towchik, Karl Quilligan and Madeline Krebs work tirelessly to make sure the girls are comfortable and healthy.
