SENIOR Caroline Horvath introduces herself as the Chatterbox Editor-in-Chief for the 2019-2020 school year.

Caroline Horvath, Editor-in-Chief

In her fourth year as a Chatterbox staff member, Caroline Horvath is thrilled to lead Chatterboxers as the Editor-in-Chief. Horvath hopes to create an inclusive and inviting environment for all WHHS students and Chatterbox readers.

Horvath is a member of the Quill and Scroll International Honors Society and has attended three JEA/NSPA journalism conferences while working on the Chatterbox staff. Horvath has also been published on Cincinnati.com and in the Cincinnati Enquirer. 

Horvath hopes to attend college somewhere where the sun shines all year round. Horvath is an avid reader and loves learning new things. In her free time she is probably reading the news or debating politics with friends.

Students at WHHS see going to the South, especially to the Deep South, for college as unappealing. WHHS class of 2018 had 7 students go to Alabama for college.

Just like the unique mixing of grades in the tabletop game club, students involved in the Eagle Buddies program will be paired with someone from another grade level who will help them with their academic and social life.

This year, English teacher Margo Fisher-Bellman has incorporated discussion about mental health with Wellness Wednesdays. Even before she began Wellness Wednesday, Fisher-Bellman tried to bring positivity into her room visually. “I wanted my room to even have those words visible so that somebody could read them every day, even though that’s incredibly superficial,” she said.

At St. Mary School in Hyde Park, the “Peanut Free Zone” table holds a sign informing students not to bring nuts of any kind to this table. The “Peanut Free Zone” is a place for students with mild to severe nut allergies to stay away from possible allergic reactions.
