Sabrina Washington recently joined the WHHS community after working at Rufus King High School in the Milwaukee area. She has worked in education for nearly two decades and is eager to expand her knowledge whilst getting to know her WHHS family. “I love it,” Washington said. “I’ve met a lot of really great students and I wouldn’t want to do anything else.”

There are a few main points the coaching staff hopes to work on this season. “We are working on being stronger with the ball and finding mismatches that we can exploit. We have skilled wings and bigs and will do a better job of feeding them the ball,” Adams said.
Ball ’till they fall

One way WHIP supports the music departments is by providing funding for musicians to play for students. In December, two famous classical musicians, siblings Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Isata Kanneh-Mason performed in the WHHS Auditorium. “I came to the cellist performance that was at the beginning of December, before finals,” Wesley said. “That was incredible. He’s an internationally known cellist, and that’s another thing that the money we raise goes towards.”
WHIP-ping up support

As a part of her graphic design major, Aubrey Lauer makes companies’ products more visually appealing and fit for marketing in a process called packaging, one of her favorite parts of graphic design. “I think later in my career, once I get established, working under other people and under bigger creative directors and designers, I would like to do more freelance stuff and maybe start my own studio or collaborate with some other people,” Lauer said.
