2027 Sundance Film Festival location

Since the 1980s, the annual Sundance Film Festival has been located in Park City, Utah. In 2024, the Sundance Institute decided to start bids to relocate the festival to a more suitable location.

According to AP News, Park City lacked the necessary housing and theaters to host this increasingly popular event. In September of 2024, the Sundance Institute announced the finalists who would move on to their final Request for Proposal (RFP) process: Cincinnati, Boulder and Salt Lake City/Park City.

Last month, the Sundance Institute announced that the 2027 festival would take place in Boulder because of its small-town charm, natural beauty and engaged arts community.
