On Feb. 24, Starbucks announced that it will reduce its menu by around 30% beginning March 4. These cuts include various items, many of which are blended frappuccinos.
The company released a statement stating that these changes are being implemented in hopes to “reduce wait times” and “improve quality and consistency.”
Along with this sudden menu renovation, the company also announced plans to lay off over 1,000 corporate employees. These changes are being spearheaded by Starbucks’ newly appointed CEO Brian Niccol. In an interview, Niccol revealed that the company has relied too heavily on mobile orders and hopes these changes will help restore the brand as a “community coffeehouse.”
In contrast to the menu cuts, new items, including the iced cherry chai and jalapeno chicken pocket, will be introduced in spring 2025. The itemized list of cut items can be found here.
