At their winter concert on Feb. 20, Jazz Lab Band and Jazz Ensemble played a variety of songs, including Love for Sale, Cottontail, Cold Duck Time and Road Song.

While they are both jazz bands, they do have some differences. While Jazz Lab Band focuses on jazz combo selections, listening, improvisational techniques and jazz theory, Jazz Ensemble mainly focuses on improvisational techniques and Big Band Jazz.

Having concerts like this one as a part of the curriculum for not just these classes but all music classes allows students to showcase their talents and the things that they are learning to their parents and peers.
