A tsunami advisory was issued in southwest Japan, after a 6.6 magnitude earthquake. Minutes after the earthquake, a tsunami wave about 3 feet tall made contact with land, though there was minimal damage.
Along with the tsunami advisory, locals were advised to evacuate due to the possibility of landslides and aftershocks.
While one man was injured from a fall down stairs and trains were temporarily disabled, electric power continued and there were no detected problems with any local nuclear plants.
