This week, Los Angeles County faced a fire that caused 2,000 structures, many of which were homes, to burn down. The fire resulted in the evacuation of around 100,000 of the area’s residents.
The fire spread quickly at 60 MPH, covering 17,234 acres. It had yet to be contained as of the morning of Thursday, Jan. 9.
800 firefighters are actively battling the fire with aircraft support while being careful to ensure the winds don’t fuel the fire more.
