Walt Disney Co., commonly known as Disney, announced that its live TV service Hulu+ will be combining with Fubo, a streaming service similar to a traditional cable bundle. The deal is expected to close in 12 to 18 months.
The deal will result in Disney owning 70% of the new entity, with the remaining 30% ownership remaining in the hands of Fubo’s shareholders. The combined streaming service will have over six million customers.
The deal is expected to have little impact on consumers, as both Fubo and Hulu+ will still be available under their existing platforms.
