The AP Physics II class holds this competition every year. “It’s an application of physics,” Sandee Coats-Haan, the AP Physics II teacher, said. “Coming up with something that doesn’t have drag, coming up with a boat that the torque doesn’t flip you over… [and] to design something that had enough buoyant force so that you didn’t sink before you got to the other end.”
