On Nov. 10, a shooting took place in Tuskegee, Ala. during Tuskegee University’s 100th homecoming celebration.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the event left one dead and 16 with injuries, 12 of which were caused by the gunfire.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigations is working with law enforcement at the federal and local levels to investigate the crime and prosecute the perpetrator.
As a result of the shooting, all classes on Monday, Nov. 11 were canceled for students to give them time to process and grieve following the incident.
