Teen dies a day after school fight

A non-binary teenager from Oklahoma, Nex Benedict, died a day after a school fight on Feb. 8.

The young student had been harassed due to their gender identity multiple times, though the cause of this fight is still undetermined.

According to NBC News, students and faculty had intervened in order to stop the fight, with those involved getting a health assessment by the school nurse afterward.

Though the fight hasn’t been stated to be the cause, many are still saddened by the loss of the well-spirited student.
