On February 14, an unknown assailant opened fire into a parade in Kansas City, celebrating the Chiefs’ recent Super Bowl victory.
At least 22 people were shot, including Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a well-known Kansas City radio host, who was reported dead soon after the attack.
Additionally, 12 victims are being treated in the hospital for gunshot wounds.
The Kansas City Police, who reported a parade turnout of 1 million people, have detained 3 unnamed suspects according to AP News.
“We have parades all the time. I don’t think they’ll end. Certainly, we recognized the public safety challenges and issues that relate to them,” Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas, who was present at the shooting, said.
