After disagreements over the handling of the U.S.-Mexico border between the federal government and Texas, Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives.
According to AP News, Mayorkas was accused of not enforcing immigration laws and lying about the security of the border.
Democrats have been speculating that Republicans voted for this impeachment as a punishment to the opposing side rather than trying to solve government issues.
