The rain started on Feb. 4, and lasted through Feb. 5.
According to USA Today, 48-hour totals were as high as 14 inches of rain in some parts of California.
The flooding, caused by an atmospheric river, the equivalent of a river in the sky that carries significant water vapor, has resulted in four reported deaths so far.
Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency due to the storm.
