Owen Cummings, Managing Editor of Viewpoints

In his fourth year as a Chatterbox staff member, Owen Cummings is excited to reprise his role as the Managing Editor of Viewpoints. This year, he hopes to encourage his sections to write about what they are passionate about in order to create the best possible articles for the publication.

This is Cummings’s second year as Managing Editor of Viewpoints. He has served previously as a Fine Arts writer as well as Deputy Editor-in-Chief, so he knows what he’s doing. We hope.

Cummings has been in 11 WHHS plays, and hopes to be in more before he graduates. His favorite subject is History, and he placed 4th in the state level History Day in Individual Performance for his project on 80s teen movies and the effect the outside world had on them and teens in the 1980s.

Cummings hopes to study cinema history and film directing in college, and hopes to go into a cinematic field as a career later in life.

Cummings is a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, and enjoys reading and making/listening to music.

In this panel from the 1988 comic 'Batman: The Killing Joke,' written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Brian Bolland, the signature of the Joker, his green hair, white skin and red lips, are illustrated. In the 2019 movie 'Joker,' the character retains all these features, but with the addition of blue triangles around the eyes and red eyebrows, the Joker takes on a more traditionally clown-ish look. In addition, the movie adaptation gave the iconic character an orange suit, as opposed to his classic purple suit from the DC comics.
