Mariam Hamouma, Sports Writer

During her first year as a member of theChatterbox staff, Mariam Hamouma, ’25, is proud of the work she has done, and how she was able to do it on a timely basis.

One of her favorite memories was writing the Ice skating article, which eventually got a SNO award.

She has gained new skills that she will continue to use outside of this class. This includes experience using cameras, giving interviews, writing in AP style, and being a teamwork setting.

 Victoria Niu, ‘26, is an ice dancer, which differs from a figure skater. “I'm primarily an ice dancer, if you watch the Olympics, those are the people that do pairs but don't do jumps,” Niu said. “I used to have a partner but he quit, and I don't jump in any of my programs and I have a lot of different elements than figure skaters.”

 Tennis is a very mentally challenging game, something that player Natalie Goodman, ‘25, who has played tennis for 14 years, experienced firsthand at the ECC Championships. “Trying to keep a good mindset, even though tennis is a very physical game, it's also very much like a mental game,” Goodman said.
