Julissa Torrijo

Julissa Torrijo, Remembrancer Staff

In her first year as a Remembrancer staff member, Julissa Torrijo is eager to work as a Remembrance Writer for Student Life. She hopes to make her and other student’s years at WHHS memorable and significant.

Torrijo is passionate about her work as a writer and hopes to strengthen her penmanship through journalistic writing.

She also participates in the Books for Kids Club, where she writes and illustrates children’s books for kids at the Children’s Hospital.

Torrijo aspires to one day complete and publish her own collection of poems and short stories while continuing her education in literature.

When she’s not taking part in those activities, Torrijo enjoys playing the violin at events and listening to various genres of music to discover new songs.

“[Dr. Carlton-Ford] is one of my favorite people in the whole world,” Audrey Symon, ‘25, a Writing Center helper, said. “I’ve formed a super close bond with her, some of my best friends are from the Writing Center and [formed a bond with] people that I’ve not necessarily met through there, but have become closer with through the Writing Center.”
