One way WHIP supports the music departments is by providing funding for musicians to play for students. In December, two famous classical musicians, siblings Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Isata Kanneh-Mason performed in the WHHS Auditorium. “I came to the cellist performance that was at the beginning of December, before finals,” Wesley said. “That was incredible. He’s an internationally known cellist, and that’s another thing that the money we raise goes towards.”

Sabrina Washington recently joined the WHHS community after working at Rufus King High School in the Milwaukee area. She has worked in education for nearly two decades and is eager to expand her knowledge whilst getting to know her WHHS family. “I love it,” Washington said. “I’ve met a lot of really great students and I wouldn’t want to do anything else.”

After meticulously considering the backgrounds and beliefs of each board member in the board of education, De Iorio decided to share her Polish history in her statement about the degrading CPS culture to attract the attention of Mike Murosky, a board member. "I knew I could connect with him, so having seen his tattoo before, knowing what it was, knowing that he is very proud to be Polish, I knew that if I mentioned it, just mentioned it, I would have his attention for everything I would say afterwards."
