The first iPhone was released in 2007. Since then, technology companies have been inventing new models nearly every year in order to try and come out on top in the never-ending race to create the “perfect” cell phone.
In September 2014, the iPhone 6 was released and became Apple’s premier product in the vast field of….
The iPhone 6 was Apple’s first model, which was considered “ultra thin.” 10 years later, the iPhone 16 was the first iPhone to include Apple Intelligence, Apple’s brand name AI.
While both phones were considered revolutionary and cutting-edge for the time at which they were released, the drastic improvements in technology in the last decade make the two models starkly different from each other.
Options:
The iPhone 6 had two models upon release: one regular version and a “plus” version, which was larger in size compared to the regular version.
The next year, Apple released a revised iPhone 6; the price equaled that of the original version, at $199.
The iPhone 16 has a starting price of $799 and has four total options, with two of those options (regular and plus) having the same features and differing only in size.
The iPhone 16 Pro has two sizes, similar to the regular iPhone 16; only the larger size is called “MAX” instead of “plus”.
Features:
The iPhone 16 has more features compared to the iPhone 6, including an “action button,” a camera button and Apple’s namesake AI, Apple Intelligence.
The iPhone 16 has a sizable difference in storage capacity compared to the iPhone 6, with the 16 having a maximum capacity of one terabyte while the iPhone 6 has a maximum capacity of 128 gigabytes.
The iPhone 16 also has a significantly higher-quality camera, with some models having two or three cameras that allow the user to zoom in and out around their subject.
Despite this, the iPhone 16 does not support a physical SIM card (a card provided by your carrier to access data), instead using eSim which connects over Wi-Fi to cellular data.
