LA hit with earthquake after Oscars

The night of the Oscars was met with many surprises, but one thing no one could have predicted was a 3.9-magnitude earthquake hitting during the awards show.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), this latest earthquake hit the San Fernando Valley around 10:13 p.m.. The earthquake was reported to be nine miles deep and was felt in certain areas around Los Angeles.

While reportedly 8,000 Los Angeles residents experienced the earthquake, the Los Angeles Fire Department stated that they will not be going into earthquake mode, since earthquakes like this are relatively common by California’s standards.
