As President Trump’s new administration rapidly takes shape, numerous government entities have been gutted and defunded. Termination notices have been issued to many employees at the Department of Education, the Small Business Administration, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the General Service Administration. 

The Guardian reported that the workers ability, knowledge and skills don’t fit the current needs and their current performance is not able to justify further employment. Employees were also given a buyout offer in order to incentivize resignation. 

So far, Elon Musk, the leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has terminated nearly one billion dollars worth of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) related contracts.
