The United States is facing a severe rise in cases of the flu as the virus peaks for a second time this season. Forty-three states reported elevated flu activity, with most of the activity present in the South, West and Southwestern states.
The rise in flu infections comes with a drop in other respiratory infections, such as RSV and COVID-19.
The CDC estimates that there have been nearly 24 million flu infections and 13,000 flu-related deaths nationwide this winter so far.
