On Monday, Dec. 9, the entertainment app TikTok asked the Supreme Court to review legislation attempting to have banned the app for U.S. users starting Jan. 19.
This past spring, President Joe Biden issued legislation stating that the platform will no longer be distributed in the U.S. if it does not separate from its parent company, ByteDance, by January 2025.
Currently, TikTok creators and small business owners are worrying about the impact the ban will have on their income rates, as they are expected to lose an approximate $1.3 billion in the first month, according to CNBC.
