Abby Jay, Managing Editor of Visual Elements

In her third year as a Chatterbox staff member, SENIOR Abigail Jay is excited to work as the Managing Editor of Visual Elements. She is forward to the opportunity to create a feeling of togetherness to the WHHS community during this unconventional school period.

Jay has previously worked as a News & Features staff writer during her first year on the Chatterbox staff, and as the Managing Editor of Current Events in her second year. She is also a part of the Remembrancer staff, for which she is the Seniors section editor this year.

Jay also participates in Model United Nations and is a member of the Quill & Scroll honor society’s chapter at Walnut Hills.

Jay hopes to study journalism/communications in college, with a special interest in politics.

Jay enjoys kayaking and photography.

In 2019, WHHS students gathered in the Blair circle to acknowledge in a strike against climate change. Students worldwide participated in this movement to stop climate change and reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses.

Yousuf Munir, ‘21, the head of state outreach for Ohio Climate Strike, was a key component in organizing the WHHS Climate Strike. Munir accepted the task on top of his responsibilities as the WHHS Junior Class President, the co-president of the WHHS club Students Demand Action and the founder of the organization RYSE.16, a group dedicated to lowering the Cincinnati voting age to 16 years old.
