Since his days as a comedy sketch writer and actor, Jordan Peele has voiced characters in Big Mouth, Toy Story 4, and many more. Peele has been growing artistically, making a name for himself in horror with his critically acclaimed movie Get Out. He has decided to veer from comedy and turn a new page onto directing horror movies, he said he likes to “make people scared” and wants to create more movies that feature black actors and actresses. Now Jordan Peele has yet again stunned critics with his new movie Us, staring Lupita Nyong’o.

The story follows the life of Adelaide, played by Nyong’o, her family and their encounters with supernatural reflections.

The film starts with Adelaide as a young girl first seeing her reflection at a beach, and being traumatised. Then it cuts back to the present with Adelaide, her husband and her son returning to the same beach and reliving the trauma. The reflections return and torment Adelaide and her family.

This movie is a must see if you are a movie fan and appreciate a good psychological thriller. But there has been some criticism, The Vulture has made comments about its clunkiness and repetition, but it is still a movie marvel and deserves the praise it receives. Along with Us, Jordan Peele is working on a reboot of The Twilight Zone, and he has many movies to come.
