In choir, the process of learning music includes some unusual steps. Along with Anthony Nims, choir director, members of various choirs, Tre Hall, ‘25, Xe Ford, ‘25, Rachel Everingham, ‘28, and CJ Jordan, SENIOR, explain how this process works and its merits.

Every year, the poetry slam team holds auditions for new members to join. The number selected for the team varies from year to year depending on how many people are needed for competitions.
Verses lead to victory

This will be Rebber’s first lead role, having previously been casted in the ensemble. “Im enjoying it a lot. Its a lot of late hours and hard work put into the show but I know that its going to turn out amazingly,” Rebber said.
Chicago
Film Club meets every Friday in Mr. McCormicks room (1602) from 3:15 to 4:15 to watch and analyze films and connect with other students with similar interests. “My favorite part is just looking over at my friends [when] something crazy happens on screen and [being] kind of like “wait [what]’ and when people start yelling at the movie,” Faith Wallace, ‘24, said.

Palmore enjoys writing clever titles for his pieces. An example of this is a sketch of an owl titled “Are You Looking At Me?”
The history of our halls
Being a part of the marching band is a big-time commitment. With practices four days a week ranging from two to three hours, it can be hard to find downtime.

Phenomenal fencing

Lydia Goetz, Deputy Editor in Chief of Broadcast
In her second year as a Chatterbox staff member, Lydia Goetz is very excited to take on the role of Deputy Editor in Chief of Broadcast. Using her prior experience as Managing Editor of Features, she plans to help Broadcast roll as smoothly as possible and create projects that she can be proud of, while making sure that others can do the same. Goetz has run cross country and track for six years, and also performs with the WHHS vocal ensemble. She works as a lifeguard year round, and coaches swim team during the summer. In the future, Goetz hopes to study video production and mass media. She also plans to put her knowledge of Spanish to use and reach more audiences. Goetz also loves to be outside in the world, whether it’s hiking, running, or hanging out with friends.
