L’s kitchen: sweet sea-life fish bowl

Note: don’t use an actual live fish. I learned that the hard way.

For this recipe, you’ll only need three ingredients: blue gelatin, rainbow Nerds and Swedish Fish or any other fish gummy. You will also need a container to store it in- you can use a fish bowl, but for individual servings, use cups or mason jars.

First, in a large bowl, make blue gelatin according to the package instructions; if you prefer, you can also use unflavored gelatin and substitute the water for a blue liquid such as Berry Fanta, but I simply used blue Jell-o. While it sets, prepare your fish bowl by filling ⅛ of your container with Nerds. The amount you’ll need will depend on how big your cup is. Once your gelatin has set completely, mash it so that it has a consistency similar to crushed ice. Pour it into your fish bowl until almost filled. Finally, put a fish gummy peeking out of the bowl, and enjoy! I recommend making this as close as possible to serving, as the Nerds’ color will eventually leech into the gelatin, making a not-so-appealing look (but still delicious)!
