Puffball Keychains

Model Cara Delevingne walked down the Fendi runway in 2014 and captivated the audience’s attention with more than her outfit — by her side, Delevingne carried a furry Karl Lagerfeld keychain. According to The Guardian Fashion, this keychain started a pom-pom trend, seen by colorful, fluffy balls attached to keys, purses and backpacks.
These ball range from a more expensive price range of $1,500, ones that Kylie and Kendall Jenner carry on their bags, to the $2 balls on Amazon.
Allie Acevedo, ‘21, shared that she got her keychain for her backpack after her mom noticed how many girls at WHHS had them.
“She loves the softness and it is really fluffy,” Acevedo said.
She also admitted that she did not have a particular reason to get the keychain other than the trend. Others however, connect more personally with the item.
“I saw one on T.V. and my mom said it was my style. It is a bundle of joy just like me,” SENIOR Lindsay Duffie said.
These soft, distinguishing keychains attached to backpacks, purses and keys are not only growing trend, but also a small representation of the owner’s interests.
