Opening day for most Major League Baseball (MLB) teams was roughly three weeks ago. The season is off to an exciting beginning with some breakout hitters and surprising starts.
Sal Stweart, a rookie first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds, is off to a great start with seven home runs and a batting average of .323.
The start of the season has also started off great for injury-ridden Mike Trout, an outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels, who has six home runs and 15 runs batted in (RBI).
The Pittsburgh Pirates are off to a surprising 11-7 start; the Pirates finished the season last year 71-91. The Minnesota Twins are hitting the ground running with an 11-8 record. The Twins finished last season 70-92.
