Cincinnati native and former St. Xavier Bomber Luke Kuechly has been announced as part of the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, which was revealed Feb. 5 during the NFL Honors ceremony.
Kuechly, a middle linebacker, played his whole 8-year career as a member of the Carolina Panthers, who selected him ninth overall in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Boston College, where he made five First-team All-Pro appearances and two Second-team All-Pro appearances, as well as winning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2012 and NFL Defensive Player of the Year in his sophomore year in 2013.
Kuechly retired at only 28 after the 2019 season, citing the effects of various concussions suffered during his career. He will now be enshrined in the Hall Of Fame in Canton, Ohio alongside fellow Cincinnatians Roger Staubach, of Purcell Marian, and Cris Carter, of Middletown.
