Up to 15,000 nurses from private hospitals in New York have gone on strike due to reasons such as extreme workloads and higher security measures. 

Absent nurses have been replaced by traveling nurses, and as flu season progresses, the lack of care for patients can mean cancelled procedures and transferred patients.

However, these hospitals have failed to address workplace safety issues and proceed to justify their bargains.
