On Dec. 10, a judge from the state of California blocked President Donald Trump’s request for the deployment of California National Guard members to the city of Los Angeles.
Trump’s request falls under what is known as “Title 10,” which states that the president may call any state service members and any state National Guard members under circumstances which he deems necessary.

This is the second time this year that a request like this has been blocked. Charles Breyer, a US district judge, was the one denying both the requests.
“For more than five months, the Trump Administration has held California National Guard troops hostage as part of its political games,” Breyer said. “But the President is not King. And he cannot federalize the National Guard whenever, wherever, and for however long he wants, without justification. This is a good day for our democracy and the strength of the rule of law.”
This comes after continuous efforts from the Trump administration in order to crack down on crime in American cities which they deem “dangerous”.
