LiAngelo Ball, the brother of NBA players Lonzo and Lamelo Ball, recently ventured into rap music and is making waves in his own way.
He released his song “Tweaker” under the name G3 Gelo after previewing it on a livestream with streamer N3ON. Since that release, social media has been flooded with videos using his song and its lyric, “I might swerve, bend that corner woah-oh,” and the track has also been playing in many NBA and NFL locker rooms after a win.
Due to this breakout hit, Gelo landed a record deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group worth up to $13 million, in which he retains full ownership of his songs and the Ball family’s own record label, Born2Ball.
Ball plans to release more music in the future, and rappers such as Boosie and a Boogie wit da Hoodie have reached out already to collaborate with the young artist.
