On Dec. 2, President Joe Biden became the first U.S. President to visit the country of Angola. This visit marks the first and last time he will visit Africa in his presidency.
Angola is home to a surplus of abundant oil and gas resources. Biden’s visit to the country marks the beginning of what officials hope to be a long-standing relationship regarding trading and networking.
The majority of Biden’s three-day visit will focus on the redevelopment of the Lobito Corridor railway as well as strengthening United States presence in the region.
