Walnut Hills plans a few trips a year and Micah Tehrune, ‘18, along with other students, got to experience traveling to Peru this summer.
“I just wanted to experience something different from the United States”, said Micah Tehrune ‘18 about his trip to Peru this past summer.
This trip lasted about a week starting June 22 and ending July 3. While on the trip students got to do a variety of things including exploring ruins, white water rafting and even living in some homes in Cusco, Peru.
“I also got my first tattoo”, Tehrune said while laughing.
When asked about a memorable moment on the trip Tehrune replied, “It had to be playing with the kids”. While in Peru he took part in a service project where he worked with preschoolers.
“I got to run around with them even though [it] was a small building. It was made up of one room with a back room [in it]”, said Tehrune.
“It was worth it and a lot of fun. It was also really different,” Terhune said about the trip overall.
